Overview

The project EQUI-X | Promoting Innovative Strategies to Address the Construction of Gender Identities and to Engage Men and Boys in Non-violent Models of Masculinity, funded by the European Union, proposes new approaches to prevent gender-based violence and promoting equality between young people of different ages through the discussion of femininity and nonviolent and equitable models of masculinity.

In Portugal, EQUI-X was developed by the Centre for Social Studies-University of Coimbra and Promundo Portugal between January 2018 and December 2019, with young people aged 12 to 18 years in public schools of the 2nd and 3rd cycle of elementary school and young people of the same age to fulfill educational measures in Educational Centres. The EQUI-X manual is one of the main results of this project.
