During the seminar José Santana Pereira will present the results of his research on the populist attitudes of Portuguese men and women, looking at their prevalence in Portuguese society, the factors that increase or reduce the likelihood of expressing populist attitudes, the different varieties of populist attitudes identifiable in the population, and the impact of populist attitudes in terms of electoral participation/abstention, voting behaviour and other modes of political participation.
