Framework
This international conference is held under the project “Research on migration and the biographical approach: building a collaborative framework in the Portuguese context” (PTDC/CS-ANT/111721/2009 - FCOMP-01-0124-FEDER-014442) and constitutes a moment of disclosure and public discussion of the partial results.
It intends to bring together all the people and institutions involved in the research work, by placing them in a "live" and accessible dialogue with the audience: the CES team, volunteers, representatives of local institutions dedicated to the issue of immigration and immigrants in the city of Coimbra, some of the project's external consultants, institutional partners, colleagues and guests that will comment thematic tables.
The specific objectives reside in the collective treatment, over the two days of the conference, the various issues raised by the field-work as well as the theoretical assumptions and methodological procedures of the project . Each thematic table will comprise team members, volunteers, commentators, treating each subject from their specific form of participation in the research (internal, collaborator, external). Videos and photos of the research process will be presented. From these media will be analyzed the themes of biographical research in the study of migration, experiences of the city, inclusion, exclusion and participation; religions and churches in the migratory context, discrimination and gender; discourses and representations of immigration; participatory research.
