Performative Lecture

Lessonsof the Cultural Forest: Indigenous Peoples, Historical Ecology and Ecology  of Knowledges

Francisco Alfredo Morais Guimarães (Universidade Federal da Bahia)

October 7, 2013, 18h00

Room 1, CES-Coimbra

Abstract

During this lecture I will present an experience regarding the results I have achieved with the application of pedagogical performative devices in the doctoral research I have conducted in schools in Brazil and Portugal. Taking as reference the pedagogy of the oppressed, the historical ecology and ecology of knowledges, I seek the participation of teachers and students in the research process, in order to destabilize/disrupt paradigms that underpin the "invisibility" of the indigenous peoples of Brazil in textbooks and the teaching of history.
