As part of the CES, Health and Epistemologies of the South series, this seminar features the intervention of Mauro Serapioni  (CES) and comments by Tiago Pires Marques (CES).

 

Bio notes

Mauro Serapioni  is senior researcher at the Center for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra and co-coordinator of the Research Group on Social Policy, Labor and Inequalities (POSTRADE). Mauro Serapioni is graduated in Political and Social Science at the University of Bologna, Master in Health Management at the Istituto Superiore di Sanitá (Rome) and PhD in Sociology from the University of Barcelona. Since 2010, Mauro Serapioni lectures in PhD Programme "Democracy in the 21st Century" (CES-FEUC) and is currently Visiting Professor at the Postgraduate Course in Collective Health at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil (2020-21). Its main research area is Citizen Participation in health systems in the Southern European countries and Brazil. 

Tiago Pires Marques |  CES researcher since 2014, currently pursues his socio-historical research on mental health, extending the field of observation to the present day and combining historical and sociological methodologies. Currently, his interests are mainly focused on activism and movements of users in the field of psychiatry and mental health, as well as collaborative research in mental health.
