Room 2, CES-Coimbra

Abstract

This seminar will present the final considerations of the research developed at the Post-Doctoral internship developed by the speaker at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra on violence against girls in the Portuguese and Brazilian context.

The intention is to portray the most relevant observations resulting from the empirical work conducted during the internship, as well as critically reflect current legislation, social protection policies and practices for girls (children and adolescents) who were victims of violence in Brazil and Portugal, between 2000-2015.

The seminar will also focus on the importance of the feminist movement in challenging domestic violence in both countries.
