Sala 1, CES | Alta

The Government of Spain adopted a Feminist Foreign Policy in 2021, with a great potential as a transformative governance model on the international stage. Based on the pillars of rights, representation, resources and reality, the session examines how principles of equality and gender justice are integrated into diplomatic action and the management of contemporary global challenges, such as migration flows and development cooperation. The discussion will delve into the importance of applying an intersectional perspective that recognizes structural inequalities, evaluating the necessary coherence between theoretical commitments and their practical execution across various institutional contexts.

Furthermore, the role of this policy as a strategic tool for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda will be addressed, ultimately considering whether the Spanish model provides the essential keys to be replicated by other States, like Portugal, seeking a more humane, equitable diplomacy committed to global social transformation.
