Overview

The COVID-19 pandemic crisis which is devastating every society, in addition to health intervention, has forced public authorities to intervene without precedent, by establishing exceptional state of emergency distinctive measures. Some of these measures, aimed at preventing transmission of the virus, pose challenges to citizens' fundamental rights.

With this in mind, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) has just produced a second report, covering the period from March 20 to April 30, on the pandemic’s impact on fundamental rights. [SEE HERE]
CES, through its Permanent Observatory of Justice, within the framework of the protocol signed with the FRA, has prepared the Portuguese contribution to this second report, as well as the specific report on Portugal, which is here conveyed. [SEE HERE]
