Seminar

Insurgent Urban Planning: Theoretical Reflections and Spatial Practices

Elson Manoel Pereira (Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina)

March 22, 2019, 10h30

Room 2, CES | Alta

Overview

Combining old and new strategic forms of struggle, social practices insurge in the urban scenario and seek to circumvent the curtailment of urban space by financial capital, using alternative forms of appropriation of space and territorialisation to occupy the spaces of the city and claim it as a common good. The seminar will address these practices in the city of Florianopolis/Brazil, providing a connection to the reflection on the international level.

Activity within the Doctoral Programme «Sociology - Cities and Urban Cultures» (CES/FEUC)
