Abstract
Food justice and the associated movements in Europe are poorly researched despite offering substantial ´food for thought´ type of cases. This paper makes a systematic literature review of recent scholarly debates related to food justice-sovereignty and peasant-agrarian issues in this region Europe with the purpose of understanding the transformation of power relations around food. It will specifically look at the various ways rural (and urban) actors resist (collectively or not) to the appropriation and commodification of natural resources, and the key concepts of rights, re-peasantization, sovereignty, and alternatives. It will critically discuss the multiple dimensions of (in)justice in relation food systems taking into consideration gender, race, class, North-South, generational issues.
