Overview
The interactions between culture and spaces, intersections of public and private spheres, subjectivation and construction of connections. Culture appears in its potential for the promotion, critical action and production of knowledge, as a determinant in the geographic and symbolic maps of the city.
Programme
Session 1 | Culture space on city maps
Culture as a political experience and potential for education, and the role of cultural centres and the occupation of public space in the maintenance and transformation of urban logics.
Theme: Culture as a potential for transformation
Danilo Santos de Miranda (SESC SP) - Graduated in philosophy and social service, regional director of Sesc São since 1984, member and advisor of different cultural institutions in Brazil and the world. Santos de Miranda approaches culture in the broad sense and as education and deals with the management of culture and the role of cultural centres and management in the critical, social and educational sense.

Session 2 | Culture, spaces and visibility dynamics
Theme: dynamics and changes in city spaces
Ciro Pirondi (Escola da Cidade) - PhD in architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Founder and teacher at Escola da Cidade. Researches history of architecture and city design. Focuses on the modification and intervention of urban spaces and structures.

Claúdia Pato de Carvalho (CES)
Theme: spaces for culture and cultural action in the periphery
Marta Bergamin (FESP - SP) - PhD in sociology from UFSCAR, professor at the Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política de São Paulo. Researches fringe Aesthetics and culture, youth and labour and leisure relations.
