«Walking other paths»: Solidarity Economy in Portugal: Limits, perspectives and the participation of women, in the light of the involved leaderships (key people)

Overview

This seminar presents the results of an exploratory research with a group of associations and key people involved in Solidarity Economy in Portugal, based on semi-structured interviews. The intention is to establish a dialogue based on these various experiences in Solidarity Economy in Portugal, be they researchers or leaders linked to this theme in the country and propose some reflections on solidarity economy, its limits, perspectives and possibilities. It should be noted that this seminar focuses particularly on the participation of women in solidarity initiatives in the Portuguese reality.


Bio note

Maria Raquel Caixeta Gandolfi holds a PhD in Economics from UFU (2016). She is an Adjunct Professor at the Faculty of Management and Business at the Federal University of Uberlândia. She is currently a visiting researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. At Campus Patos de Minas, she is the deputy coordinator of the Incubation Centre for Popular and Solidarity Economy, CIEPS/Pathos. Has experience in the area of ​​Labour Economics and Solidarity Economy with research in the areas of work, employment and income generation, unemployment, quality of employment and solidarity economy.
