Abstract 

This seminar proposes a reflection on the situation of migrants and refugees and their impact on policies and public debate in the European area. This reflection will follow a journey through the corridors of European power and areas of military conflict and economic hardship.

Bio note 
Marisa Matias holds a Ph.D. from the School of Economics, University of Coimbra and was a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies  Her areas of interest include the relationships between environment and public health, science and knowledges and democracy and citizenship. Currently, she is Member of the European Parliament.
