Raquel Ribeiro
Biography
Raquel Ribeiro is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology by the University of Porto with the thesis "Representations of globalization, justice and relations between countries: A contribution to the study of the meta-system of social representations". She is interested in the study of the psychosocial impacts, socio-territorial inequalities and social justice of economic and financial processes; the way social representations guide individual and collective action and the processes of building policies that promote inclusion, social justice, and non-discrimination. Between 2014 and 2021 she integrated the research teams of the projects "FINFAM - Finance, gender and power: How are Portuguese households managing their finances in the crisis?" (coordination: Lina Coelho); "FINHABIT - Inhabiting in financial times: Housing and the production of space in democratic Portugal" (coordination: Ana Cordeiro Santos); and "Women and Men in times of pandemic. Work, income, living conditions" (coordination: Lina Coelho). Currently, she coordinates the research team of the project "HOU$ING: Financialised housing in 21st century Portugal: Social representations, practices, and political stakes".
