I co-designed and teach an MA course, Cultural Sustainability, delivered in multiple universities simultaneously with interaction between locations (i.e. Universities of Coimbra, Jyväskylä, Turku, and Jagiellonian). I am involved in the development of an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree on Urban Cultures led by University of Augsburg; for which I am co-developing the course Urban Cultural Intervention. I have participated in pedagogical seminars in Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Portugal, South Africa, and Switzerland. I was a founding co-coordinator of CES' Publish do not Perish: Survive the Stampede advanced training series on academic writing/publishing for PhD students. Scientific orientation and supervision. I am PhD co-supervisor for 2 students at CES-UC. Previously, I (co)supervised MAs and a PhD in Canada, a PhD in Australia, and research visits of PhD students from Denmark, Spain, UK, Latvia, and Brazil. Within research projects, I have mentored MA and PhD students and postdocs, providing coordination opportunities for large scientific events and summer schools. I have also involved early career researchers in co-written articles and edited books, spending time to closely work with them in these processes. Evaluation of theses. I have been External Examiner of PhD theses in Portugal, Spain, England, Australia, Japan, and Brazil, and examiner of MA projects/theses in Canada and Portugal. Summer schools. I have developed 5 Summer Schools: Uncovering Cultural DNA of Place, and Activating for Local Development; Cultural Mapping and Connecting with Place; Activating Creativity in Social Sciences and Humanities; Artistic and other Creative Practices as Drivers for Urban Resilience; and Re-Inventing the City: Participation and Innovation. I have lectured in summer and winter schools in Portugal, Croatia, Germany, South Africa/China, and Germany/Egypt. TEACHING Course development / Coordination Co-developer/Lead of CES team involved in the development of a research-based Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree on "Urban Cultures," led by University of Augsburg, Augsburg, Germany. The University of Coimbra leads the in-depth module on "Urban Transformation," a collaboration between Faculty of Economics (FEUC) and CES. (FEUC lead: P. Abreu). a first cohort of students (no EMJMD scholarships) began at U. Augsburg in Fall 2024
