Carlos Nolasco
Biography
Sociologist. Ph.D. in Sociology of Production, Work and Enterprise, from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, with the thesis "Feint Borders. International Migrations in Portuguese Football" (2013), and Master in Sociology, with a specialization in Sociology of Development and Social Transformation (1999), also from FEUC. Researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra, he is part of the Research Group Democracy, Justice and Human Rights, and works at the Permanent Observatory of Justice. He is a member of the Portuguese team of the FRANET network of the Agency for Fundamental Rights of the European Union (FRA). He was a professor at several national higher education institutions, teaching in the areas of Social Sciences, holding management positions and positions in scientific and pedagogical bodies. As a researcher, he participated in several research projects in the areas of Fundamental Rights, sociology of professions, international cooperation, migrations, migrations of sports work, sociology of sport, biographical narratives, access to law. His areas of interest are the Sociology of Migration, Sports Work Migration, Sociology of Sport, and Sociology of Law.
