In the academic world, authors who dealt with the issue of prostitution/sex work differentiated several ideological models regarding the debate on this activity. These ideological models were born from the analysis of the different legal systems and the regulation of prostitution/sex work. Therefore, the debate on this issue crosses the legal reality of each country, the theoretical analyses and the speeches that justify each of them, and finally the consequences of each one on the subjects on which it falls, that is, the people who practice prostitution/sex work. In this seminar, we will try to address the different ideological models differentiated within the academy, the countries associated with each regulation, and the consequences they have on people who engage in prostitution/sex work. The intention is to generate debate and critical analysis on this subject, in this seminar
Bio note
Rafael Barroso Pavia - Holds a law degree from the University of Seville and a Master's degree in Social Sciences and Social Intervention from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. He is currently a doctoral student in Legal and Political Sciences, in line with Human Rights, Development and Interculturality, of the latter university. Prepares a dissertation entitled "Human rights and prostitution/sex work, a critical look at human rights for legislation on prostitution/sex work in Spain: the case of Seville".
