Gender Equality and Sustainable Development Goals in Portuguese Cooperation policy and practices: challenges and proposals
This study aims at providing Portuguese Cooperation with clues and tools for a more effective inclusion of Gender Equality in the pursuit of strategies, programmes and projects in the field of Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Education for Development.
Relevant aspects will be analysed to achieve changes in the integration with greater quality of Gender Equality in development cooperation policies and in accordance with the advantages and criticisms related to the 2030 Agenda. An improvement in these fundamental aspects can decisively contribute to reversing some of the shortcomings presented until 2015, in Portuguese Cooperation.
The methodology will combine document analysis and review of international literature on the subject, semi-structured interviews and focus groups (FG) with relevant stakeholders for the implementation of the Portuguese Cooperation Strategy for Gender Equality, with national and international experts and activists for the gender equality; and carrying out a small survey among them.
