Madalena Alarcão
Biography
Madalena Alarcão holds a PhD degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Coimbra and currently is an Associate Professor at Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the same university. She is a family therapist and a supervisory board member of the Portuguese Family Therapy Society. Her research interests and teaching activity are framed around family and the promotion of family well-being. Embracing a systemic approach, she conducts research on issues of parental education, parenting skills, family violence, social networks and the therapeutic process. She lectures in the field of systemic and in the systemic and family intervention, within the Integrated Master's Programme in Psychology (in Clinical Forensic Psychology) and within the interuniversity Doctorate Programme in Psychology, Specialty in Clinical Psychology, Family Psychology and Family Intervention.
