Isabel Pedro dos Santos
Biography
Isabel Pedro dos Santos is a researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (Humanities, Migrations, and Peace Studies Group). With a PhD in English Literature granted by the University of Coimbra, she is now retired since January 2014. As Assistant Professor at both the Anglo-American Studies and the Translation Sections of the Languages, Literatures and Cultures Department, Faculty of Letters, University of Coimbra, she taught at postgraduate level in the MA and PhD programs in Feminist Studies and Translation Studies, in the Poetry and Poetics MA program (Faculty of Letters:FLUC)and in the "Languages and Heterodoxies: History, Poetics and Social Practices" PhD program (FLUC/CES. She is a member of the International Meetings of Poets organizing committee. She was a member of the CES/FCT "New Poetics of Resistance: the 21st century in Portugal" research project, coordinated by Graça Capinha; she is responsible (together with Adriana Bebiano) for the coordination of the Translation area of the project. Her current research interests include Feminist Studies, Women's Writing (notably autobiography), and Translation and Interpreting. She is now a translator and an interpreter.
