Other Activities
2025-present - Since 2025, I am coordinating and curating the REBRAPESC Cinema Club, a quarterly program designed to foster dialogue among memory studies researchers through film. Each session features a curated film screening followed by a guided discussion. Over the past year, discussions have addressed memories of the labor movement during the Brazilian dictatorship period through the films Eles não usam Black-Tie ("They Don't Wear Black Tie," Leon Hirszman, 1981) and O Homem que Virou Suco ("The Man Who Turned into Juice," João Batista de Andrade, 1980). The relationship between history and memory in cinema was also explored through two episodes of the TV series Black Mirror, alongside an analysis of images from Alain Resnais's documentary Night and Fog in dialogue with Didier Huberman's book Bark. In June 2026, we will explore nostalgia for the present and memory as forms of activism and resistance through discussions of Bacurau (Kleber Mendonça Filho and Juliano Dornelles, 2019) and Vitória Régia (Cisma, 2024).
