The purpose of the organizing institutions is to contribute, from a dense and pluralistic approach, to the analysis of the recessions that followed the sub-prime crisis and the understanding of the dynamics of financial markets and institutional structures during this period, seeking to fundament a prospective standpoint on the present risks. From a historical comparison with the 1929 recession and the crisis that followed, the particularities of the XXI century economy, European integration and the Portuguese economy will be discussed by experts in economics, history and law.
