Amailton Magno Azevedo - is currently Professor of the Post Graduate Studies in History and History Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Catholic University (PUC-SP). Graduated (BA and BS) in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1998), MA in History from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (2000), PhD in history from the Catholic University of São Paulo (2006) and Post doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin (2011). He has experience in the field of History, with an emphasis on History of Africa and Brazil, mainly in the following themes: mestizo black cultures in Brazil, African cultures in the Diaspora, musicality, orality and mestizo black youth. He has published several articles on issues related to the music and the memory of mixed black Diaspora in Brazil. He is also a musician, with an album named Mundo Atlântico [Atlantic World], 2004. From 2012 on, he began to supervise research at MA level by the Postgraduate Studies Programme in History.
