1) Guided tour "Stories at the University”

A visit to different (outdoor) spaces of the University of Coimbra, and to the UC Herbarium. The knowledges to be approached will focus on the construction and evolution of the UC, including aspects of its management and the construction and contributions of its scientific collections.

Target audience: kindergarten teachers and primary and secondary teachers of all groups, working or in initial training, and families.

Approximate duration: 2 hours.

Maximum number of participants: 20.

2) Guided tour "Stories in the City”

This visit will take place from Santa Cruz Park ("Jardim da Sereia") to Terreiro da Erva via the Old Cathedral. The knowledges to be covered will focus on the transformations of the city, from the Medieval Era to the present day, and the links between urban green spaces and the health and well-being of those who live and/or work in the city.

3) Training Session "Stories at the University”

Accredited short-term training session where the work and scientific contributions of the UC Herbarium and the impacts of urban biodiversity and urban green spaces on human health and well-being will be presented, and the pedagogical potential of the collaborative platform developed by the Herbarium within the scope of a Master's dissertation project, "Explorator", will be explored.

Duration: 3 hours.

4) Training Session "Stories in the City”

Accredited short-term training session where, in a first moment, the scientific knowledge about the city produced in projects of teachers, researchers and PhD students of the UC will be presented, putting them in dialogue with other knowledge and exploring its pedagogical potential. In a second moment, we will share the first results of a citizen science project developed by a secondary school class, discussing the opportunities and constraints of this strategy in education and outlining a first guide for its effective implementation in different educational contexts, to be made available in open access in the digital repository and other digital sites.

5) Exhibition

Showing a selection of the stories - narratives and images - shared during the visits and training sessions, as well as others collected in the digital repository.

Place: Casa da Esquina.

Expected duration: 1 month.

6) Digital repository

Open, collaborative and evolutive collection of stories - narratives and images of the city places past, present and in an imagined future - exhibited in a collaborative digital platform. The repository will be fed by the results shared during the guided tours and Training Sessions and by the collection of other stories shared digitally.
