This seminar emerges from the confluence of the doctoral research developed by Sabrina Severo da Silva (Federal University of Santa Catarina) and Alberto Izquierdo Montero (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia), both in pre-doctoral internship at the Centre for Social Studies under supervision of researcher Manuela Guilherme. Their presentations are based on recent research.

Sabrina will present the project "School-World Connection: innovative spaces for citizen training", especially in the line of work focused on collaborative methodologies as possibilities for a more authentic communication. And Alberto will share some reflections from the project "Adolescents in the face of hate speech: a research to identify scenarios, agents and strategies to confront them".

The activity will seek to facilitate an active role of the participants, generating a space for discussion in groups around some issues related to the democratising role of education, especially in times of radicalisation of hate speech inciting violence.
