Call for Papers
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the Centre for Social Studies is organizing an international conference at the University of Coimbra, which is also intended as a tribute to Boaventura de Sousa Santos, the founder, scientific director and spiritus rector of the Centre.
The conference consists of two parts: from November 8th to November 10th, a group of internationally distinguished guests will debate several transversal topics of high relevance for the present and future of research in the social sciences and the humanities in a globalized world (see programme). The first day, November 7th, is open to general participation, in particular of young researchers, with the aim of providing ample space for the debate of research themes with relevance for a critical reflection on the contemporary.
The proposals submitted should have address any topic with relevance for the social sciences and the humanities; topics with an inter- or transdisciplinary import will be given precedence.
The organizing committee will respond to submitted proposals by May 15th 2018 [* Proposals missing any of the elements identified in the submission form will not be considered].
The official languages of the conference are Portuguese, Spanish, and English. The entrance is free.
