November 2025

The film «Outlasting – Living Archives of Older Queers», directed by Ana Cristina Santos and Nuno Barbosa as part of the TRACE - Tracing Queer Citizenship Over Time, won the Best LGBTQ+ Film award at the Athens International Monthly Art Film Festival (AIMAFF).

This award recognises the artistic quality and impact of the work, which gives visibility to the experiences and memories of LGBTQI+ people over the age of 60 in Southern Europe, combining scientific research, art and activism. It is an archive of life stories of diversity over time in Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta and Slovenia.

The award reflects the commitment of the TRACE Project, based at CES and funded by the European Research Council (ERC-2021-COG, TRACE, 101044915), to promoting and disseminating interdisciplinary research on ageing, citizenship and sexual and gender diversity over time.
