Abstract

Recuperar las soberanías entregadas al mercado sin control: la soberanía política, la soberanía económica, la soberanía alimentaria, la soberanía democrática... En definitiva, urge trazar una alternativa política y económica de confederalismo democrático para un espacio en el que ya solo se siente cómodo el poder de las grandes corporaciones.

The European project seems to have forgotten its founding values: establishing a common area of peace and cooperation on the principles of peace and social justice. The response to the refugee crisis and the rise of the far right are just the latest symptoms. The European space has become in recent decades in a large financial company.
Extreme economism,  further exacerbated  by the global financialisation of the economy, have left behind concepts such as democracy, social rights or sovereignty. The general feeling is that the peoples and citizens of Europe do not decide and that the tools to reverse this model are no longer within the reach of democracy. Greece would only be a paradigmatic example. The TTIP, a concrete realisation of the European neoliberal drift.
Faced with this unique European project, it is urgent to draw the axes of a popular  and democratic antithesis to the absolutely hegemonic, almost unique,  European space policy economic theory. Rethinking democracy from municipalism and community to build confederal and democratic structures between citizens and peoples. Reinventing the scale of cultural values that give meaning to social progress and internationalist cooperation in Europe.

Recovering lost sovereignties delivered to the market without control: political sovereignty, economic sovereignty, food sovereignty, democratic sovereignty ... In short, it is urgent to draw a political and economic alternative of democratic confederalism for a space in which only the power of large corporations feels comfortable.

Bio note

Quim Arrufat nació en 1982 en la localidad de Seo de Urgel, en la provincia de Lérida. Es licenciado en Ciencias Políticas y de la Administración por la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona. En 1996 es cuando comienza su militancia política, en un colectivo  de contrainformación  de Villanueva y Geltrú  llamado  Contracorrent.
Desde 2009 trabaja para el Centro Internacional Escarré para las Minorías Étnicas y Nacionales (CIEMEN), donde dirige el Área de Relaciones Internacionales y Cooperación. A raíz de esto comienza a intervenir como miembro activo en el Foro Social Mundial y presentar varias iniciativas al Consejo de Derechos Humanos de la ONU, con el objetivo de avanzar en el derecho de los pueblos a la autodeterminación. Entre 2009 y 2012 Arrufat fue concejal de la CUP en el Ayuntamiento de Villanueva y Geltrú. En las elecciones municipales de2011 Arrufat se presentó como cabeza de lista de la candidatura independentista. En 2012 se presentó con la CUP en tercer lugar por Barcelona, siendo electo diputado tras las elecciones catalanas del 25 de noviembre de ese mismo año. Ya abierta la legislatura, se convirtió en portavoz del Grupo Mixto.
