Amara Moira is a trans author with a PhD in literary criticism and theory, and her doctoral thesis focuses on James Joyce´s Ulysses. Her main works are the autobiography ‘(So What) If I'm a Puta: Diaries of Transness, Sex Work, Desire’, in which she writes about her experiences as a sex worker, and Neca: Romance em bajubá (Companhia das Letras, 2024), a novel written entirely in Bajubá, the language of resistance of the Brazilian trans community. In addition, she was the coordinator of the Museum of Sexual Diversity in São Paulo, where she currently resides.
