The Gender Workshop continues its “Feminist Talks” with people from different areas of intervention and work in gender equality, and women's dignity and well-being in Portugal and Spain. The talks will make it possible to map relevant work carried out in our country and Spain, not only in the scientific and academic world, but also in the areas of activism, the arts, caretaking, work, trade unionism, etc. This talk’s guest is Ana Lúcia Santos, interviewed by Tiago Rolino. The topic is sport from a gender perspective.


Bio notes 

Ana Lúcia Santos | Ana Lúcia Santos has been conducting research at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra since 2012. She has integrated research projects related to LGBTQ citizenship and disability-related projects. She is currently part of the Research Project REMEMBER - Experiences of LGBTQ Older People in Democratic Portugal (1974-2020). She holds a degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra and a PhD in Feminist Studies from the same Faculty with a thesis on the regulation of sexually non-normative bodies in sport. Research areas: queer theory, crip theory, feminist studies, intersex studies, trans studies, philosophy, posthumanism, feminist biology. Besides her academic work, she has been involved in LGBTQI activism in Portugal in the past, having been one of the co-founders of the Anti-Homophobia and Transphobia Platform of Coimbra.


Tiago Rolino |  Holds a law degree from the Portuguese Catholic University, was a lawyer between 2003 and 2017, and is studying for a master's degree in Women's Studies: Gender, Citizenship and Development at Universidade Aberta (UAb). Rolino is a Junior Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies (CES), where he is Project Manager of the Permanent Observatory of Justice (OPJ) Project to Support the Fight against Corruption in Mozambique.
