Sérgio Pedro


Biography

Researcher at the Ecology and Society Lab (ECOSOC) of the Centre for Social Studies (CES) of the University of Coimbra. MSc in Public Law (specialization in Human Rights and Public Policy). His thematic interest as a professional and citizen focuses on the transdisciplinary intersection of environmental sociology, public policy analysis & design, STS, human rights and social data science, through multidisciplinary methodologies oriented to the co-production of knowledge together with different social actors. Experience of specialized legal practice in Human Rights, project management, network coordination and academic research, at the national and international levels. He was Scientific Manager for Univ. Coimbra´s Strategic Area - Environment, Natural Resources and Agrifood; National Coordinator of FIAN Portugal, national section of FIAN International, international NGO for the Right to Adequate Food and Nutrition with UN consultative status;International Coordinator of the Civil Society Network for Food and Nutritional Security of the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (REDSAN-CPLP); National Coordinator of ReAlimentar-Portuguese Network for Food Sovereignty and food nutrition security and National Coordinator of TROCA-Portuguese Fair Trade Platform. He also collaborated with the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH) in its EU Delegation in Brussels, co-responsible for the thematic area of International Trade and Human Rights.
