Susana Lobo


Biography

Susana Lobo (Lourenço Marques/Maputo, 1973) is an associate researcher at CES and assistant professor in the Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC), where she has taught since 1998. She has a degree in Architecture from the University of Coimbra ( 2002) and PhD in Architecture, specializing in Theory and History of Architecture, from the University of Coimbra (2013), with the thesis "Architecture and Tourism: Plans and Projects. The scenography of leisure on the Portuguese coast, from the 1st Republic to Democracy ", under which she received a scholarship from the Foundation for Science and Technology. Since 2015, she has been part of the Coimbra Studio doctoral program at DArq-FCTUC and is responsible for the Urbanism, Architecture and Tourism curricular unit, which she created at this institution. She is the author of "Pousadas de Portugal: Reflexos da Arquitetura Portuguesa do Século 20th" (Coimbra: Imprensa da Universidade, 2007). She has focused her research on the study of relationships between Architecture, Territory, Landscape and Tourism, her area of specialization, collaborating with several publications in the disciplinary area and participating in several scientific meetings, nationally and internationally. She was part of several CES initiatives such as the International Colloquium "74-14 SAAL and Architecture".
