Ana Sofia Veloso


Biography

She is the coordinator of the Publications Support Office of the Centre for Social Studies since July 2018. She joined CES in July 2011 to occupy the post of editorial assistant, working with periodical and non-periodical publications. She has a degree in Journalism from the Faculty os Arts and Humanities of the University of Coimbra (Portugal) and a master's degree in Communication and Journalism from the same institution. In 2015, she published an article resulting from her master's thesis research: "The use of social networks by journalists working in Portugal". As part of her work at the Publications Office she presented the poster entitled "Revistas científicas: Desafios e vantagens da integração numa plataforma", realized in co-authorship, at the 5ª Conferência Luso-Brasileira sobre Acesso Aberto (October 2014). She has training in Lodel and OJS and expertise in international indexing databases for scientific journals. She is interested in matters related to the development of academic books, scientific journals and open access of scientific knowledge. She is also interested in issues connected with new media and journalism. She is bilingual in Portuguese/French and speaks English and Spanish. Between 2005 and 2011, she was a media officer at the University of Coimbra.
