Biography

PhD Candidate in Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship, and lawyer in Universidad de las Américas (Ecuador). She is from Kichwa Puruwá indigenous nacionality in Ecuador. Main research interests are legal pluralism, indigenous law, legal sociology and human rights. Her academic and professional journey has been geared toward addressing questions that have emerged associated with these topics. Currently she/he is working on her PhD project, focused on legal sociology and legal pluralism, entitled "La Justicia Kichwa: otra forma de hacer, ser y sentir el Derecho y de construir la Plurinacionalidad", with the guidance of professor Boaventura de Sousa Santos and professora Maria Paula Meneses and funded by FCT.
