Biography

João Paulo Pedro is a PhD researcher at the program of Discourses: Culture, History and Society. His research interests are related to public history and critical analysis of mnemonic constructions and cultural heritage. His doctoral research focuses on the cultural imaginaries of the Portuguese Revolution of April 25, 1974 and their role in public history, particularly in the places of memory and in the history of public exhibitions. For his master's dissertation he developed an analysis of the construction of cultural and political memory in the 20th century in Hungary and Portugal, looking particularly at the role of museums. He is also a collaborating member of TECHN&ART - Center for Technology, Restoration and Enhancement of the Arts of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar.
