Biography

Isabel Mouta completed her Master's degree in Chinese Studies and her Bachelor's degree in Languages and Business Relations, both from the University of Aveiro. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Post-colonialisms and Global Citizenship at the University of Coimbra, which she began in 2023. Since the end of 2015, she has been part of the technical staff at the University of Coimbra, working in the area of internationalization of higher education, with a particular focus on attracting international students. She has an interest in the fields of Social Sciences, with an emphasis on an interdisciplinary perspective of colonial heritage and post-colonial challenges, especially within the context of Portuguese-speaking regions. Her main area of study is the internationalization practices in higher education institutions influenced by the geopolitics of knowledge.
