Catarina Príncipe
Biography
Catarina Príncipe holds her bachelor's degree in Comparative Studies from the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon (2011). She frequented the master programme in Gender Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, for which she received a scholarship from the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation. She is currently a PhD student of the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Programme in Political Economy (organised by ISCTE-IUL, FEUC and ISEG). She is developing her thesis on the process of Europeanisation of the Portuguese State with the financial support of the FCT. She is also a contributing editor and contributor of the North-American magazine Jacobin Magazine where she writes despatches on Portugal, Southern Europe and crises and the European Union. She held a scholarship at the FINHABIT research project (Inhabiting in Financial Times: Housing and the Production of Space in Democratic Portugal) where she co-authored a book chapter on financialization and social reproduction in Southern Europe. She currently sits on the national board of the Portuguese Association of Political Economy.
