Abstract

Conservatism is one of the political influences that marked the overcoming Latin America's military dictatorship and the processes of transition to democracy, reinvigorating itself with greater or lesser force, according to historical circumstances. Its impacts are evident in Social Service, particularly due to State choices (legislative, executive and judiciary), in the conduct of social rights. Conservatism has a direct repercussion on vocational training, through the Education Policy and social workers work on various social policies, as field of action of social workers. This justifies the need to deepen their assumptions, to better understand and combat the renewal of their influences. We intend to demonstrate how Social Service authors approach the question, as well as to present some aspects of American neoconservatism, having as selected author Irving Kristol.
