Troubled by Heterogeneity?

Applications are sought from teachers and researchers (including students) who are interested in moving beyond your current disciplinary and academic boundaries.

Participants will be expected to contribute before, during, and after the workshop in the following ways:

1. Talk to the organizer to explore the options for bringing your thinking into the workshop interactions.
2. Join this wiki and post a profile (instructions). (This allows you to read and sharepassword-protected materials.) -- http://sicw.wikispaces.com/Coimbra12
3. Read pre-circulated contributions, NewSSC objectives, and workshop guidelines
beforehand so as to inform discussions during the workshop (links to be posted shortly).
4. Participate in the workshop for 2 hours each morning, one hour at the end of the day,
through self-paced work during the day for at least 2 hours, and one meal together.
(Greater participation, e.g., two meals together, is welcome, but not required.)
5. Assist in some of the tasks to set up and clean up.
6. Join at least some of the monthly hour-long conference calls that support reflection and practice beyond the workshop.
