Abstract

This seminar will present preliminary data on theses in development, on themes regarding the historical construction of Brazilian cities, having as background a reflection on the development model with imported logics that expelled large portions of the poor, mainly black population, to socially marginalized localities, giving rise to urban agglomerations. The perpetuity of class-race-gender oppressions, criminalisation of poverty, State violence, with a notable reflation of colonisation, will be approached with distinct focuses, providing a space for dialogue to broaden views on urban phenomena that consider epistemes, knowledges, experiences of social subjects whose voice and life need to be recognised. The Seminar is based on the ecology of flavours and the relevant contribution of the anti-racist, anti-patriarchal, anti-chauvinist struggle for decolonial thought and for Democracy in Brazil.
