Mission
The focus of the work of the Independent Commission (IC) is the analysis and clarification of complaints about possible situations of sexual and moral harassment, occurring within the scope of professional, research or advanced training activities developed at the Centre for Social Studies. The Commission will analyse the situations and complaints already made public, received through CES institutional means, or that may be presented through the channels established for this purpose, within the considered deadline.
The appointed team does not intend to replace the competent judicial bodies or authorities. It reserves for itself the right to assess the relevance of the information received, to hold hearings with the parties concerned by the complaints received, to apply tools to identify the possible prevalence of situations of harassment and to produce recommendations for the development of measures to prevent and raise awareness of all forms of harassment.
The IC will be governed by criteria of impartiality, autonomy and independence and will assume as fundamental premises of its work the consultation of all parties with the absolute guarantee of secrecy and confidentiality. The members of the IC shall maintain the duty to treat any information received with complete confidentiality, both during the period of its work and after its termination.
