December 4, 2015, 10h00
CES-Lisbon (Picoas Plaza | Rua do Viriato, 13, Lj. 117-118)
Framework
Acção Comparte is a project that aims to promote participatory democracy as a way to improve citizen coexistence, democratic governance and local sustainable development. It is a project promoted and coordinated by the Autonomous University of Nicaragua and funded by the European Union, and also counting on local partnerships as the Ayuntamiento de Rivas Vaciamadrid (Spain), Fundación Desarrollo y ciudadanía (Nicaragua) and In Loco Association (Portugal) as well as numerous collaborating institutions.
Acção Comparte develops research to diagnose Nicaraguan citizen participation processes, a study that will identify, among local and civil society authorities, the local participation structures and their impact on coexistence, sustainable development and good governance. This will culminate in a Best Practice International catalogue and in the preparation of training materials for the authorities and civil society organizations, strengthening local structures for the implementation of participatory processes.
The international exchange of knowledge and experiences involving social organizations and collaborators of Acção Comparte in Portugal, Spain and Brazil, will enhance the knowledge acquired by the conducted research. Accordingly, Portugal and Spain will host a mission of a team from the Autonomous University of Nicaragua that will disseminate the results of the diagnosis research carried out and also assess some good practices in different contexts in both countries. Acção Comparte joins the Project Portugal Participa, therefore, in order to share research results and, as in the usual Portugal Participate workshops, create a space for reflection and sharing on issues of citizen participation, open to all.
The workshop is held under the Project Portugal Participa, coordinated by the In Loco Association, in partnership with the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra and the Municipalities of Cascais, Funchal, Odemira and Porto. Funding for the project rests with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as the operator of Active Citizenship Programme, with the support of Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein through the EEA Grants.
