Overview

Photographer Sebastião Salgado's reflection on the situation experienced by the indigenous people of Amazonia under the threat of COVID-19. Salgado points not only to the possibility of illness, but also to the probability of genocide and extinction of these populations, pointing to the responsibility that we all have, as individuals and societies, in defining and implementing measures - local and global - for their protection, protecting their spaces, knowledges and bodies from invasion, violence and external devastation.
