Overview
In this text, and following another one published in co-authorship in March 2020, Steffen Roth shows how the WHO in a 2019 document only found scientific evidence for a moderate impact of measures such as hand hygiene and wearing masks for community mitigation in cases epidemic or pandemic. The recommendation to apply the other drastic measures, which we have seen taken place with the COVID-19 pandemic, is based on an experimental logic, an exercise and a social experience on a global scale.
