Overview

The search for the origin of recent epidemic and pandemic episodes in zoonoses - diseases that occur in animal species and that, in certain circumstances, can be transmitted to humans - has contributed to a renewal of studies in social sciences that seek to explore this relationship. In this article published before the emergence of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the author proposes a genealogical investigation on how the subject was treated in anthropology throughout the history of the discipline.
