Overview

Merrill C. Singer points out that a disciplinary and conceptual separation between human and animal diseases is incorrect. The author understands that to encompass the risks imposed on health with regard to animal-human relations, new ways of thinking and working are needed, a multidisciplinary collaboration between researchers, intertwining biomedicine, veterinary and public health, remembering that syndemics involve both biological components and the social conditions of a population.
