Overview

Interdisciplinary article that brings together the disciplines of sociology, veterinary and health policy research around the current outbreak of COVID 19. The authors understand that what makes this outbreak different is the global feeling of fragility that bypasses human life and demand, on the part of governments, for a "sterile society", seeking to expel the virus from society(s). From the fear of exposure to the virus to the irrational behaviour of citizens and policy makers, the authors point out that today's societies are vulnerable both biologically and mentally, requiring an investment in structured resilience at the mental, social and spiritual level.
