About

This presentation focuses on the methodological approaches used to address the "land issue" in the Canadian Prairies, a region where over 70% of Canada's total agricultural land is located. The results, benefits and challenges of using land title data and Geographic Information Systems software to analyse the extent of land grabbing, farm consolidation and farmland concentration, which are having profound impacts on young farmers, food system sustainability, climate change and democracy, will be discussed.
