Overview
This seminar intends to analyse the media representations regarding Daesh and specifically in relation to its members with European citizenship or nationality, trying to answer the following questions: what are the differences between representations of masculinities and femininities? What are the ideals-type of femininity conveyed? To what extent do the narratives generated by the media correspond (or not) to processes of securitization and racialization? What are the emerging counter-narratives and how do they contribute to the redefinition of the "political"?
