About

This seminar is the result of a survey and is a brief reflection on the recent process of transformation of the city of Lisbon observed during the year 2018 focusing on the impacts of these changes on housing. The "Lisbon it-city" assumes new meanings and "new centralities" within the framework of the neoliberal logic of territorial management, whose consequences for low-income populations are violations of the right to housing and to the city. The action-research developed from March 2018 to January 2019 with the local social movements, more precisely next to the collective Stop Despejos, consists in the attempt to contribute to the resistance struggle of the communities studied from the use of social memory as an element of popular dynamization for the realization of the right to housing, to the city and to life.

Diana Bogado holds a PhD in architecture from the University of Seville; co-creator and co-curator of the Museu das Remoções of Vila Autódromo in Rio de Janeiro, postdoctoral fellow at CES-UC, Coimbra University, and presents her action-research carried out during 2018 with the social movement for the right to adequate housing in Lisbon.
